Jeff Williams, an Apple executive, also reported that Apple will launch a medical research platform called Research Kit, a software designed for clinical research that will turn iPhones and the HealthKit app into diagnostic tools. In the presentation, several prototypes of tests shown on iPhone screens pointed to the diagnosis of diseases such as Parkinson’s, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The advancement, however, could open a debate concerning the privacy of data and its use.

Apple also reported that there are already 453 Apple stores in 16 countries. The establishments have already received more than 120 million visitors in the last quarter, according to Apple. The company plans to open 40 more in this 2015.
